Marie married Melvin Price in 1938 and was subsequently widowed in 1959, eventually moving to Arizona. In 1967 she married Forrest Van Sickle, Jr. and four fortunate children gained a wonderful step-mother. After a long and successful career, she retired in 1983 from the telephone company that was known as "Ma" Bell back then. Marie was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. This was very important to her and she served the church faithfully her whole life. Marie was predeceased by her husband Forrest and is survived by her four step-children who loved her very much - John (Terry) Van Sickle, Mike (Michele) Van Sickle, Rick (Bonita) Van Sickle, and Mary Werne (Jay). She is also survived by her beloved sister, Hazel Chapman, beloved family of her late brother Elbert (Nedra) Chapman, including loving nieces and nephews Thomas (Nina) Chapman, Lorraine (Michael) Rowzee, Robert (Linda) Chapman, and Cynthia (Tita) Tai. Also left to cherish her memory are her "like a daughter" Nancy Collier, grandchildren, great-grandchild and numerous friends. To know her was to love her. Special thanks and gratitude to the staff of Glencroft (Sarah's Place) and for their loving care in her final days. Visitation will be Thursday, April 24th between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at A. L. Moore-Grimshaw, 710 W. Bethany Home Rd., Phoenix. Services to be at the Osborn Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 3102 N. 18th Ave, Phoenix, On Friday, April 25th at 10:00 a.m. with visitation from 9:00-9:45 a.m. Burial to be at Phoenix Memorial Park following the service.
