75 of Scottsdale, passed away to eternal life on May 18. He is survived by his loving wife Julie and brothers Russell and John. His children, grandchildren and great grandchildren dearly loved and will sorely miss him. Roger was born in Chicago on Nov. 19, 1938. He was preceded in death by his wonderful parents Roger and Helen. He grew up in Chicago and proudly served as a Chicago Police Officer for 19 years. He was also preceded in death by his first wife Sally Pinkston whom he was married to for 38 years and raised five children. He found time along the way to work as a fireman on a locomotive for the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad as well as a union carpenter. Roger moved to Crested Butte Colorado, ran a grocery store, and dabbled in politics. He served as Mayor of Mt. Crested Butte for one term. He then moved to Scottsdale and became one of the original members of the Terravita Golf and Country Club. There he became one of the clubs most successful real estate brokers and worst golfer. He loved snow skiing, fishing in Alaska, and karaoke. He was larger than life. Visitation will be held at the Messinger Pinnacle Peak Mortuary in Scottsdale on Wednesday evening from 5-8pm. A Mass of the Resurrection will be offered on Thursday at 10am at Our Lady of Joy Catholic Church.
