Kistler, Charles Francis
91 of Scottsdale, AZ passed away on June 13, 2014. He was born February 18, 1923 to Francis and Theresa (Kolb) Kistler in LaCrosse, WI. Charles was united in marriage with Dorothy Sadler on Oct. 30, 1942. Charlie and Dorothy had 4 sons. Charles spent several years working as a precision machinist in LaCrosse, WI. In the early 1950's he moved to Waukon, Iowa where he worked as a plumber and later owned and operated an earthmoving construction business. For many years he split his time between Scottsdale, AZ and Waukon, IA. In the early 1980s he moved permanently to Scottsdale. Charlie served in the US Army from 1943 - 1946 and was a WWII Veteran. Charles loved to travel. He was a pilot and owned several airplanes throughout his lifetime. Charles is survived by his wife, Dorothy Kistler of Scottsdale, AZ; 4 sons: Tom Kistler of Scottsdale, AZ, Jerry Kistler of Mesa, AZ, Dick (Evonne) Kistler of Waukon, IA, and Larry Kistler of Scottsdale, AZ; 9 grandchildren: Steve Kistler, Robert Kistler, Jon Kistler, Janae Kistler, Erin (Chad) Davis, Angela (Jason) Bohnstengel, Jill Kistler, Ronald Kistler, and Leona Wiggins; 6 great-grandchildren: Will Wiggins, Madeline and Kelsey Davis, Keanau Kistler, Emily Kistler and Evelyn Kistler; and a brother-in-law, Dave (Shan) Wolfram, as well as several nieces and nephews. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, his 2 brothers and his 4 sisters. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00AM on Thursday, June 26th with Rosary starting at 9:30AM at St. Daniels the Prophet Catholic Church, Scottsdale, AZ. Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery, Phoenix, AZ. Arrangements entrusted to Messinger Indian School Mortuary.
