Nunn, George L.
age 98, of Scottsdale, AZ passed away on May 21, 2014. He was born on June 28, 1915 in Chicago, IL where he attended Lake Forest Academy north of Chicago and then Kenyon College of Gambier, OH where he was a member of Alpha Delta Phi Fraternity. The impending conflict of WWII found George enlisting in the Army Air Corp and was stationed in San Antonio, TX. He then completed Officer Candidate School in Miami, FL and left the Army Air Corp with the rank of Captain. After the war his professional life flourished as a Regional Manager with the Milton Bradley Company. George then moved to Arizona and started Nunn Supply and Equipment Company which was primarily involved in supplying materials to southwestern mining companies. He retired in 1981. Throughout his life George was an avid golfer, tennis player, sailor and polo player. He and his wife Frances made San Diego, CA their second home where they enjoyed many years of membership in the Coronado Yacht Club. He was predeceased by his father Herbert Nunn, mother Helen Nunn, and daughter Rebecca, as well as, brothers Herbert Nunn and William Nunn. His beloved wife Frances L. Nunn passed away in 1992. He is survived by sons George Butcher of Belpre, Ohio and Stephen Nunn of Phoenix, AZ. Services for George are private. Arrangements entrusted to Messinger Indian School Mortuary.
