Francies Zegarac, beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt and Friend departed this world on July 6, 2014. She lived in Sunland Village in Mesa, Arizona. She was born in Blairsburg, Iowa on March 5, 1917. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Zegarac, her Mother and Father, Dallas and Esther Snyder, her sisters, Marjorie Lynn, Dorothy Hagenstein, and Betty Lynn and her son-in-law, Lane Bauer. She is survived by her daughter Sandra Bauer of Mesa, Arizona, her granddaughter Stacey Evans and her husband Pete, also of Mesa, Arizona, her great grandsons, Morgan Evans and Peter Joseph Evans of New York City, New York and many nieces and nephews. Francies was an avid golfer for many years. She held many titles at her club in Waterloo, Iowa. When her husband suffered a stroke in 1992 they came to Mesa, Arizona. For eight years she lovingly catered to his every need, first at their home, then later at a nursing home where she would faithfully go every morning, noon and night. When he died in 2000 she decided to join the golf club at Sunland Village in Mesa, Arizona. She played three times a week for several years and made many wonderful friends. As the years crept by, her ability to play became less and less, but she would still try to attend the many events they held at the club. She loved everyone there and was quick to show her affection with a smile, kiss and a hug. Whenever she was in the presence of someone who was talking negatively about someone, she would stop them to quickly diffuse the subject and to point out the positive attributes they had. Admirable qualities for everyone who witnessed these times. She will be sorely missed by those who loved her so and whose presence she graced by just being in the same room with her. Rest in Peace, dear Lady. A memorial service will held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Sunland Village Golf Club 725 S. Rochester, Mesa, AZ 85206.
