Kinney, Charles W.
87, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2014 at home in Scottsdale. Born to the late Mattie Truluck and Thomas Dan Kinney of Sumter, South Carolina on July 26, 1926, Charles was married to Jacqueline Anderson Kinney for 65 years, who survives him. He was a fighter pilot, attended Air War College, served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars, and served three years at the Pentagon before retiring as a Colonel in the United States Air Force. As a civilian, Charles founded Kinney Management Services in 1983. Charlie's quick smile and sense of humor will be greatly missed by his loving wife, and many friends and family. In addition to Jackie, he is survived by his daughters Kathy Andrews (Steven Lamb) and Patricia Kinney (Mark vander Stoep), his four grandchildren, Tucker Andrews (Katie), Morgan Andrews, Andrew vander Stoep (Kim), and Peter vander Stoep, one great-granddaughter, Margaret Andrews, three sisters Eleanor Bradham (Roy), Ann Frazier (Johnny), and Susan Driggers, and sister-in-law Barbara Kinney. Services will be held on Thursday, July 17, at 2:00p.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Community located at 10815 North 84th Street in Scottsdale. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation at Arrangements entrusted to Messinger Indian School Mortuary.
