The Guest Book is expired.
passed away on August 6, 2014 at the age of 65 in Chandler, AZ. He was a beloved husband, father, uncle, brother, son, and friend to many. Howard is survived by his wife of 39 years, Janice (Slyder) Raper; his son Jason (wife Josie) Raper, daughter Janel Raper, granddaughter Josette Raper; as well as his sister Suellen Kyle, brother Ted (wife Candee) Raper and many nieces, nephews and in-laws. Howard was a retired math teacher of 30 years, all of which was spent working in the middle schools of Creighton School District in Phoenix. He was passionate about education and was dedicated to maintaining high standards for his students. Howard spent many late evenings working to make a difference in this world by providing positive guidance to children while being a great role model and loving family man who put his wife and kids first above all else. We can't be more proud of the mark he has left behind. While in retirement he enjoyed spending time with family, fishing, playing bingo at local casinos, going to baseball games and genuinely enjoyed the simple things in life. During the last several months of his life, he bravely faced cancer head on and fought it to the best of his ability. His strength, will and positive outlook inspired us. He will be missed dearly by many. A memorial service will be held for Howard at Messinger Indian School Mortuary, 7601 E. Indian School Rd in Scottsdale on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flower arrangements, please make donations in Howard's name to
