passed away on February 17, 2010. Robert Dean Tomsic (Bob) passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2010 surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born on September 26, 1934 in Hammond, IN and was preceded in death by his brother William Tomsic and his parents Matthew and Rosalia Tomsic. Bob graduated from Hammond High School (IN) in 1952 and served proudly in the US NAVY, 2 years aboard the US WASP. He returned to Northwest Indiana, married, started a family and in the mid 60's founded Tomsic Construction where he constructed homes for hundreds and hundreds of clients. In 1987 Bob and his wife, Diane relocated to Scottsdale, AZ where on a smaller scale Tomsic Builders, Inc. continued the family business. Bob's philosophy was "a company is only as good as the people that work for it". Bob loved golf and always had a ready joke or two for anyone in listening range. In his youth he was an outstanding trumpet player and loved music. He was especially willing to share his special skills with all of his grandchildren. Bob is survived by his wife of 52 years, Diane (Junglen), his only son, Dean Tomsic of Scottsdale, his three daughters, Leanne Scheub (Thomas) of Scottsdale, Lynn Bormann (Ronald) of Hebron, IN and Lisa Dziadon of Phoenix. Bob was blessed with eight grandchildren he loved dearly and one brand new great-grandson. Services will be held Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at 10:00AM at St. Patrick's Church, 10815 N. 84th Street, Scottsdale, AZ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to Cancer Research.
