Cecil Kirk Obituary

Kirk, Cecil W.
On March 31st, 2011 Cecil W. Kirk passed away. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Sandra; daughter, Kecia and sister, Ann. Cecil started his career in law enforcement with the FBI and moved to the Metropolitan Police Department of Washington D.C. where he was an official in charge of the Mobile Crime Laboratory. In 1980 Cecil relocated to Scottsdale to continue his career with the Scottsdale Police Department where he was the Director of Support Services. Cecil traveled extensively throughout the United States as well as to Canada and Great Britain, teaching and sharing his wealth in law enforcement. He was a volunteer with the American Cancer Society, belonged to the Knights of Columbus and served on the Parish Council at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church. A Memorial Rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m. Monday, April 4th at Messinger Mortuary Chapel, 7601 E. Indian School Road, Scottsdale. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower Street, Phoenix, AZ 85014. Please visit www.messingermortuary.com to leave the Kirk family an online condolence.

Sandy, I am so sorry . You and your family are in my prayers and I have been praying for Cecil all along. I just learned of his passing at Mass this morning. Sandy, if I can do anything please don't hesitate to call me. My number is in the church bulletin for the Christ Child Society. Even if you just want to talk I will be here for you. Cecil was a great boss, friend and mentor. I enjoyed our many lunches together and it was always a pleasure to see him again after he retired. I was hoping to get to read the novels he was working on as I enjoyed hearing about them. Cecil will be missed and my thoughts are with his family.

Sandra our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Cecil and I attended rookie school together in the spring of 1961. I enjoyed visiting with him at the October police reunion in Daytona Beach, Florida every October. God speed Cecil are paths will cross again with Gods help.
