Dr. Alan D. Korbin, 82, of Scottsdale, formerly of Cherry Hill, NJ and always proud of his Brooklyn roots, passed away on September 10, 2011. He was a very proud member of Chabad of Scottsdale and Sons of Israel in Cherry Hill. Alan was extremely passionate about the work he did building tactical defense systems to defend our country and for the Israeli Government while living in Israel with his family for 3 years. He was a huge supporter of Israel, a lover of pipes and crosswords, and a huge Phillies fan. A lover of all things Judaic, his neshemah will always be with us. He was the beloved husband of 57 years to wife Sharon and is also survived by his children Debbie (Robbie) Friedner, Jeffrey, Amy, Scott (Mary), Marla (Scott) Berger, Ronee Korbin Steiner (Tracy), William (Gayle), 15 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, sisters Joyce (Harold) Bielski, and Vicki (Joe) Cohen. Funeral services were held on Sunday, September 11, 2011. Contributions are suggested to Chabad of Scottsdale, 10215 N. Scottsdale Rd. Suite #11, Scottsdale, AZ 85253.
