Ziegler, JoAnne S.
79, of Scottsdale, AZ passed away on September 24, 2011. She was a strong woman of faith whose kindness and humor always brought out the best in everyone around her and she will be forever missed. She was born to Albert and Alvera Thompson July 22, 1932 in Lawrence, Nebraska. Graduated in 1950 from Hebron High School, married in 1952 and moved to Scottsdale, Arizona in 1961. JoAnne worked as a CNA at Hayden Manor and Scottsdale Christian Home. She was an active member of St. Daniel the Prophet Catholic Church, including Our Lady's Sodality and Rosary group. She enjoyed gardening, reading and was an avid Phx Suns and Mercury fan. Preceeded in death by her parents, two sisters:Betty Marx and Dolores Beisner; and son, Francis. Survivors include her sister, Gwendolyn Runge of Emporia, KS; husband of 59 years Gerald; children Richard, Elizabeth, Jon and wife Cynthia, Patrick, Kathryn and Kenneth; grandchildren Rachel, Anthony, Leaha, Theresa, Valorie and MaryElizabeth; 13 great grandchildren and many relatives and friends. Rosary will be prayed at 10:00 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM on Saturday, October 1, 2011, St. Daniel the Prophet Catholic Church 1030 N. Hayden Rd., Scottsdale. In lieu of flowers, family requests memorials be made to St. Joseph Indian School, 1-800-584-9200,dhyland@stjo.org. Chamberlain, South Dakota. Private burial at St. Francis Cemetery, Phoenix, AZ.
