Racquel Adams Obituary
Adams, Racquel Michelle (Rockie)
40, took her final journey into the Heavenly Mountains on July 13th, 2012, when she passed quietly at her home after a courageous and strong 3 year battle with ovarian cancer. She was born April 3, 1972, in Phoenix, Arizona, to parents James and Donna Adams. Rockie's signature smile was the outward expression of her kind soul and caring heart. She made up her life's rules as she went along. Rockie graduated from Red Mountain HS in 1990, and went on to work a variety of jobs until landing with KETT Engineering where she spent 18 years making countless lifetime friends and contributing to KETT's long term success. Rockie was a loving mother to the joy of her life, her daughter Samantha Jean Posada, as well as a loyal sister, a caring daughter and a true friend to many. Because of Rockie's passion for the outdoors, Arizona scenery, and spending time with family and friends, she was constantly found camping, hiking, kayaking, rock climbing and documenting each adventure with her permanent smile on her face and her trusty camera by her side. Because of her love of the outdoors and commitment to safety, Rockie was an active member of Pinal County's Search and Rescue Team. While on the team, she touched the lives of the team and those she aided to safety like no other before her. Rockie is survived by parents, James and Janet Adams of Loa, Utah, Donna Adams of Mesa, Arizona, Brothers Brandon (Julie) Adams of Mesa, Arizona, David (Nikki) Taft of Phoenix, Arizona and Sisters Carolyn Fischer of Queen Creek, Arizona, Dara (John) Woodmass of Prescott, Arizona, Vonda (Jon) Ford of Chino Valley, Arizona, Shirley (Phyl) Morrell of Bicknell, Utah, Sharron (Michael) Durfey of Fremont, Utah, and sister, most beloved friend, and partner in crime Merideth (Glynn) Evans of San Antonio, Texas. She also left a beautiful legacy to her many nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins. Burial to be held on Saturday, July 21st at Resthaven Park at 9:00 a.m. at 4310 E. Southern Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85042. A celebration of Rockie's life will follow at Chandler Elk Lodge at 6pm, 1775 W. Chandler Blvd, Chandler, Arizona. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to PCSO SAR Posse, Attn: Sgt. Brian Messing 971 Jason Lopez Circle Bldg. C Florence, AZ. 85132. Arrangements entrusted to Advantage Colonial Chapel.
