Mary Margaret "Peg" Sudbrack Obituary
Sudbrack, Mary Margaret "Peg"
After a long and fulfilling life, Mary Margaret "Peg" Sudbrack passed away on Friday July 13, 2012 to celebrate her 80th birthday in heaven. Peg was born on July 20, 1932 to the festive, Irish Catholic McNamara clan. The family moved to Arizona in 1940 to minimize her asthma and she flourished from that day forward. This fiery redhead was a devoted wife, inspiring mother, dedicated teacher, adorned fashionista, devout Cardinals fan, avid newshound, talented cook, and most of all-possessive of her possessions. She had a passion for all things beautiful-especially clothing, shoes, and jewelry. A perfect day for this elegant woman, included a manicure, facial, and hairstyle- and of course "lunch" out with her family and friends. Her primary home was in Scottsdale but her heart was with her summer home in Pinetop,AZ where she tended to her glorious gardens and fed the "livestock"-the birds and squirrels. Her own woman-she possessed a fierce spirit, resonating laugh, disarming smile and always managed to find humor in the most challenging situations. An educator of over 30 years, she guided her students from Navajo and Hopi Elementary on an "Odyssey of the Mind", both literally and figuratively. She loved to connect the old fashioned way, on the phone, and ended every conversation with "Love you muches!". Her husband, Bill, provided her with a life where she would never want for anything, and for the bounty, she was forever "Gr8ful". Even after suffering a stroke on July 9th, her joyous heart refused to stop beating. She left this earthly world to transition to her secret garden in the sky-in her own time and on her own terms. A life well lived, forever etched in our hearts. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ting and Herman Lewis. She is survived by her husband, Bill Sudbrack , her four children: Karen Habgood and husband Bob Bill; Mark Habgood and his love, Dawn Wilde; Geoff and Deb Habgood; and Steve Habgood and partner Mark Sadlek. She adored her beloved grandchildren, Andy, Jennifer and Jeff Habgood and her adopted family Arika, Krysta and Olivia. She will forever be in the hearts of her siblings, Jim (Judy) Lewis, Janet (Bob) Miller, and Biz Stiteler and her 12 nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday August 4, 2012 at the Heard Museum, Steele Auditorium. A reception will follow for family and friends. Please contact the family at gr8tful79@gmail.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to .
