Fred Romley was born May 16, 1928 to Samuel and Satoot Romley in Cottonwood, Arizona. On Friday, August 24, 2012 he was called home to meet our heavenly father. Fred lived an eventful and wonderful 84 years. He planted his roots in Phoenix, AZ where he attended Phoenix Union High School, served our country at age 18, and later met the love of his life, Lou Ann Romley, who he was married to for 63 years. He is survived by his wife Lou Ann Romley, his four children, Fredrick C. Romley, Cynthia Rodriguez (Sonny), Jacque Romley, Roberta McPhetrige; 7 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Fred was a devoted and loving husband and father. He had a staunch passion for his life long career as a produce buyer for Bashas' family grocery stores. After retirement he moved to Yuma, AZ and has been a member of the Yuma community for 12 years. Much like the produce that he tended and procured, Fred had the uncanny ability to tend to the needs of those around him and to procure a place in their hearts. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Sept. 6 at Johnson Mortuary Chapel and the burial will follow at Desert Lawn at 1415 South 1st Avenue Yuma, AZ 85364. He will forever be in our hearts and always by our side.
