Gonzalez, Arturo F. Jr.
89, passed away on January 13, 2013. Arturo F. Gonzalez Jr., born March 27, 1923, passed away on January 13, 2013. He was the son of Arturo and Juanita [Frederico] Gonzalez,. He served his country during the Korean War and was awarded A Purple Heart and Silver Star medals. Arturo loved the outdoors, camping and was an avid hunter. He also enjoyed oil painting, creating nature and landscape scenes, but most of all working in his garden. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years Grace Diaz-Gonzalez; children Deborah (Don) Stoll, Art (Roseanne) Diaz-Gonzalez, Alex (Ruby) Diaz-Gonzalez and Ralph (Beverly) Diaz-Gonzalez; sisters Annie, Dora, Sophie, Irene and Arcelia and brother Kino Diaz-Gonzalez. Preceded in death by Brother, Freddie, sisters Ester and Angelita. He is also survived by his grandchildren Tara, Bianca, Artie, Vanessa, Frankie, Jerry, Erica, Gabrielle, Jake and Alex. Including, great grandchildren Serenity, Jaden, Drake, Frankie, Mariah, Jazmine, DeAndre and Noah. A visitation will be held from 6:00 - 7:00 P.M. and Rosary from 7:00 -8:00 pm, Wednesday, January 16, at Mariposa Gardens Cemetery Chapel, 6747 East Broadway Rd, Mesa. Funeral Mass to be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, January 17 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 1244 S. Power Rd in Mesa. Please visit www.mariposagardens.com to leave condolences. (480) 830-4422
