Barry A. Anderson Obituary

Anderson, Barry A.
Barry A. Anderson passed away peacefully at his home in Tempe, AZ on January 17th, 2013. He was a dedicated husband, father, and friend. Barry was born August 27th, 1942 in Manti, Utah, as the only child of Alvin Owen and Mina Miller Anderson. He graduated from Manti High School in 1960 where he served as his senior class president. Following his graduation he joined the Manti National Guard Unit and proudly completed his obligations there. He then attended Snow College in Ephraim, UT, before serving a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Central Atlantic States Mission. He graduated from Utah State University in 1968 with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. He moved to Phoenix, AZ, in 1968 where he began working at Western Electric/AT&T Cable Manufacturing Plant. He married Juneve Scoresby on June 16th, 1972 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple and lived in Tempe, AZ since that time. Barry retired in 2003. His sense of humor and compassion for others endeared him to many. He loved to serve his neighbors and friends and was always ready to use his engineering skills in the form of handyman services. He also served in his church in several positions: Ward Clerk to 3 bishops, Bishopric Counselor, Stake Executive Secretary and Clerk, High Councilor, and High Priest Group Leader. Barry is survived by his beloved wife Juneve Scoresby Anderson, four children: Janette Phillips (Tom), Jeff (Michelle), Shawn (Yumi) and Susan Garcia (Chris), as well as 8 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held in his behalf on Saturday, January 26th 2013 at 11:00 am at the LDS Chapel at 1881 E. Del Rio Drive in Tempe, AZ 85282, with a viewing from 9:30-10:30 am preceding. Another viewing will also be held the night before on January 25th from 6:00-8:00 pm at Meldrum Mortuary at 52 North MacDonald in Mesa, AZ 85201. Barry's family would like to express their gratitude to Hospice of the Valley for their care of our husband and father at their Friendship Village facility and in the Anderson home. We sincerely appreciate their benevolent service to the entire family.

Juneve and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I considered Barry a friend and we still emailed. I was in purchasing and he was a big help trying to teach me about the machines. He was a good man and will be missed.
