fondly called Liz, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2013, in her home after a short illness. She was born in West Hollywood, California, on December 1, 1942, but spent her early childhood in Florence, Arizona, where she learned to love horses and riding. She moved to Coolidge with her family and, upon high school graduation, moved to California to follow her childhood dream of becoming an RN. In addition to professional work in hospitals, she became a director of nursing homes and endeared herself to many patients. Wanting to pursue her passion for travel and adventure, Liz later became an airline stewardess and traveled around the world. Returning to nursing and Arizona to be near family, Liz worked with the Navajo's and Hopi's and on her visits to The Mesas made many friends and was a privileged visitor. Her home was filled with wonderful Native American art from this opportunity in her career. Because of her love of pets, Liz volunteered at a cat shelter for a period of time after retiring. Her volunteer work also included work in admissions for Scottsdale Valley Hospital. Liz's infectious smile and bubbly personality touched the lives of many people. She was loved and will be missed by her many friends and especially her family. Cremation has taken place. In accordance with Liz's wish, no memorial service will be held.
