O'Brien, Jack V.
89 of Phoenix, AZ, passed away on 2/17/2013. Jack "Tiger" O'Brien, 89, of Chandler, AZ, passed away Sunday to join his beloved wife, Sue, truly the love of his life. Jack earned his nickname early on in his 25 years with the Phoenix Fire Department as a result of his aggressive firefighting style. Jack was very proud of his 37 missions as a pilot in the European theater during World War II. He flew A-20 and A-26 twin engine bombers and helped pioneer, along with thousands of other brave young men, precision daylight bombing. Jack is survived by his son, Bill; daughter-in-law, Barbara; grandchildren, Kimberly and Brooke; and great-grandchildren, Allie, Nicholas, and Ava, all of whom reside in the greater Phoenix area. Jack is also survived by his 94 year-young sister, Ruth Romero of New Orleans. Arrangements entrusted to A.L. Moore-Grimshaw Mortuary.
