Dorothy Wright Myers, 91, loving and beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister returned to her heavenly home and rejoined her husband, James Edward Myers, Sr., on March 19, 2013. Born in Harvel, Illinois on December 3, 1921, she moved to Arizona at age 11. She married Jim, her high school sweetheart, on June 25, 1940. They were later sealed for time and eternity in the Mesa Arizona Temple. She loved nature and camping with her grandchildren in Sedona, Bear Canyon Lake and the Grand Canyon. With a gentle spirit and sweet laugh, Dorothy devoted her time and talents to her family and the youth in Church, Boy Scouts and Camp Fire Girls. She completed her Wood Badge at the Heard Scout Pueblo and received the Silver Beaver Award in honor of her many years of cheerful service. Dorothy happily served others through her life and was an example of Christ-like love to all. She will be missed by her sister, Anne Schacht, and children, Dorothy Eileen Hansen (Neal), Mary Ann Vanover (Michael), Jimmie Lou Myers, Nancy Jean Funk (Raymond), James Edward Myers, Jr. (Karen), Barbara Sue Lewis (James), Trudy Kay Jones (Verlane), and Tina Lynn Billau (Richard). She loved and spoiled 27 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren who all adored her, with more on the way. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 29th, 11 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Vineyard Ward Building, 650 West Southern Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona. Visitation will be held at 10 am prior to the funeral. Interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in Phoenix following the service. Thanks to Advantage Funeral Home.
