Obituary Condolences

Novoa, Lucille (Leon)
is now dancing among the stars, teaching the angels to harmonize, and sharing a glass of her beloved beer with the saints. Lucy and her older brother Frank, were the children of Sofia C. Leon and Luis P. Leon. Lucy drew her first breath on September 20, 1926, and when she lost her mother Sofia just four years later, she moved to the Felix ranch west of Florence, where her aunt, "Tia" Pastora Felix, and her grandparents "Mamanina' Pastora Celaya, and "Papanino" Belen Celaya raised her with great love and wisdom. Lucy, known by her cousins Johnny, Rudy, Paul, and Fernando as "Chila", was swept off her feet as a young lady by Ben Cid Novoa, Jr, a dash
ing World War Two Army Air Corps fighter pilot. Their love lasted for a marriage of fifty nine years, and produced Ben Cid Novoa III, Carolyn (Novoa) Henderson, and Richard Novoa. Lucille Novoa entered the Kingdom of Heaven on Good Friday, March, 29, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband Ben and her brother Frank. She is survived by her children, and four grand children, Sophia Henderson, Ben Cid Novoa IV, Jon Novoa, and Anthony Novoa, and many relatives. Visitation will be at the Advantage Colonial Chapel, 4141 N. 19th Ave., Phoenix, between the hours of 3 and 5 pm, on Thursday, April 4, with a Rosary at 4 pm. There will be a funeral mass on Friday, April 5, at 10 am, at the Saints Simon and Jude Cathedral, 6351 N, 27th Ave, Phoenix with interment at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.
