Roether, Betty Lou
85, went peacefully to be with the Lord on April 25, 2013. She was born on March 15, 1928 in Long Beach, California to MG and Wanda McCreight. In 1943 she married the love of her life Robert Randall Roether. Betty raised 4 boys and a daughter in Phoenix. Betty was the cub scouts den mom and always had a revolving door at her home for all of her kid's friends, whom she treated as her own. She later worked at Bullock's before moving to Wickenburg to follow their dream of Bob owning a cattle ranch. Betty was active in the Wickenburg Chamber of Commerce, worked on the election board for 15 years, and owned a consignment clothes store. Two years ago, Betty moved to Prescott with Bob, who had Alzheimer's, so she could help care for him. Bob preceded her in death on November 9, 2012 just before their 69th Wedding Anniversary. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a son Melvin. She is survived by her sons Michael, Robert and Randall; her daughter Darcel Hepperle; 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Betty was the glue that held her very large family together and was always so thoughtful. With all the kids and grandkids she had, she never missed sending a birthday card. She will be dearly missed by all. A memorial service honoring Betty's life will be held on Saturday May 4, 2013 at 11:00 AM in Wickenburg, AZ at the First Presbyterian Church, 180 N. Adams St., with a reception immediately following at the Elk's Lodge. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Good Samaritan Hospital of Prescott.
