Kathy E. Anderson Hernandez
53, passed away May 13, 2013. She was born July 27, 1959 to Tom and Marlene Anderson in Globe, AZ, the youngest of two siblings. Kathy started her newspaper and advertising career at the tender age of 17 at the Arizona Silver Belt in Globe. After graduating from Globe High School she moved to Phoenix to attend college and received her degree from the University of Phoenix. With newspaper coursing through her veins, she resumed her advertising career with The Arizona Republic/Phoenix Gazette, the state's largest newspaper, as an Inside Sales rep. Over the next 25 years she worked in various positions, but ended her career as the Recruitment Operations Manager for one of he most profitable recruitment divisions in the country. Kathy's organizational skills and attention to detail was enviable, both on and off the job. Over the years she played the roles of dedicated employee, doting hockey mom and best friend with grace, dignity and strength. She treasured her family and friends. She had a quick wit and a great sense of humor. She fiercely stood up to injustice. Her love and passion for animals was legendary among family and friends. Kathy was blessed with the two loves of her life, Nicole and Tommy and eventually, a third love of her life, Robert Johnson of 16 years. She was counting down the days until she welcomed her first grandchild. Private services will be held for family and friends. Donations can be made to the Arizona Humane Society in lieu of flowers. Kathy will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by: Husband, Robert Johnson of Chandler, AZ; mother, Marlene Anderson of Phoenix, AZ; daughter, Nicole Salisbury (husband John and baby Ryder) of Scottsdale, AZ; son Tommy Hernandez of Chandler, AZ; sister Diana Droste of Phoenix; a host of relatives and valued friends.
