(known to all as "Bubbe Pearl") died peacefully at home, on June 4, 2013, at 95 years old, surrounded by loving family. She was born to immigrant parents from Russia in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. She is survived by her sons, Mark (Sandra), Stephen (Jeanne), and Kenneth (Melinda), sister, Dorothy Traiger (Arthur), and grandchildren, Tarynne , Emily, Hayley, Claire, and Sam. Pearl is predeceased by her loving husband of 40 years, Herbert and her brother, Phillip Cohen. She is also survived by many adoring nephews, nieces, and cousins, scattered all over the globe. Pearl was a truly remarkable woman who was always a vital member of the community. After growing up in New York she moved to Woodbridge, New Jersey as a young married wife and mother, and lived there for 40 years, where she was a leader in community affairs, including becoming President of Hadassah. She moved to Scottsdale in 1988 where she lived the remainder of her life so that she could be closer to her family. In Scottsdale she continued to be active in many community affairs, including The Scottsdale Center For The Arts and took special pleasure in tutoring special needs grade school children. She flourished in Scottsdale, where she developed a large circle of close friends. Pearl Winograd was a loving and extraordinary woman who lived every day of her life to its fullest. Pearl loved the opera, theatre, synagogue activities, bridge, mahjong, and traveling. Her zest for life was contagious. Pearl returned to Woodbridge, New Jersey to be buried next to her loving husband, Herbert, in a graveside ceremony. Donations may be made to Hadassah.
