"Glory to God, it's a girl!" Named for these words spoken at her birth, Gloria was the first girl born to Joe and Concetta Angelillo in Manhattan, New York City on March 31, 1925. As a young adult, she loved going out in the city and once sang impromptu with Vic Damone in the streets of New York. In 1949 she married Frank Dooda and in 1973 they moved to Phoenix where they opened Frank's NY Deli and in 1984, Gloria's NY Deli, with the best pastrami in town! Everyone's mom, her first question was always, "Did you eat?" It was impossible to leave without eating something. Gloria had a great sense of humor and a wonderful laugh. Everyone who met her loved her, and all she did was done with selflessness. We miss her deeply; Heaven has a great cook and a true angel. Mom is survived by her sons, Joseph, Nicholas, Albert and Frank, four grandchildren, Joseph, Nicholas, Nicole and Briana, one great-grandchild, Joseph, her sisters, Theresa and Geraldine, and her brother, John.
