Elsley, Steven Charles
Age 58, of Phoenix, passed away Friday, September 13, 2013 in New Mexico as the result of an automobile accident. Steve was born October 10, 1954 in Alma, MI, the son of the late Charles and Winnifred (Nobles) Elsley. He graduated from St. Louis High School. Steve married Melody Hawkins on November 9, 1974 in Riverdale MI. Steve was a National Project Manager for Progressive Services out of Phoenix AZ. Steven's roots grew deep in Central Michigan whose family owned and operated the St. Louis Food Locker then IGA between the early 1950s until they he moved to Florida in 1988. He was an active member of the St. Louis Chamber of Commerce as well as strong community advocate. During the next 16 years Steve worked as manager in a major retail chain in FL and GA until he moved to Phoenix to be with his present employer. Steven was an exceptional father making every move for the betterment of his family. He is survived by his wife Melody, son Keagan 36, his wife Jenny, grand children Jasper 5 and Denali 3 from San Jose CA, his daughter Harmony Albert 33 and her husband Dan of Philadelphia PN and his Daughter Larissa 29 of Atlanta GA. Steven's siblings include Tom Elsley and Margaret Felan of Michigan and Jane Thompson and John Elsley of Florida. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 11am at the St. Louis First United Methodist Church with Pastor Terri Bentley officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, St. Louis. Visitation will be held Friday, September 20, 2012 from 6 to 9pm at the Lux Funeral Home, St. Louis.
