Van Auken, Lois Clare
79, of Fountain Hills, Arizona, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2013. Lois was born in Cleveland, Ohio on August 3, 1934 to William and Clare Pringle. She was raised in Shaker Heights, Ohio and graduated from the Laurel School and Ohio University. She lived in Annapolis, Maryland, Bermuda Run, North Carolina, and Scottsdale, Arizona. She is survived by her two children, Linda (Doug) Walker of Key West, Florida, and Diane (Matthew) Gordon of Scottsdale, Arizona, six step-children, Lewis III (Maxine) Van Auken, Doug (Betsy) Van Auken, Cheryl (Dean) Camisky, David Van Auken, Nanci (Michael) Rieger, and Michelle (Brian) Carroll, one sister, Joan (James) Parker, four grandchildren, Scott, Katie, Christopher, and Carly, eight step-grandchildren, Wilhem, Lewis IV, Shannon, Troy, Ezra, Taylor, Bailey and Joseph, one step-great-granddaughter, Faith, numerous nieces and nephews, and three grand-dogs, Jesse, Cody, and Nina . She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 32 years, Lewis C. Van Auken, her parents, William and Clare Pringle and her step-grandson, Michael Rieger. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Shepherd of the Desert Lutheran Church, 9590 Shea Blvd., Scottsdale, AZ and following at Paradise Memorial Gardens, 9300 Shea Blvd, Scottsdale, AZ. A reception will follow at Ancala Country Club, 11700 E. Via Linda, Scottsdale,
AZ. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Lois's memory to Comprehensive Hospice & Palliative Care, Phoenix, AZ, or to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
