Brader, Robert Edmond
Passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones, at age 83, on January 31, 2014. Bob was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and terrific friend. He embraced life with constant enthusiasm, treated others with kindness and was adored by all who crossed his path. He is survived by his loving daughter Carissa Brader and husband Tony Magee, daughter-in-law Dianna Brader, granddaughter Sharon Brader and sister Erna Jean Alm. Bob was the eldest of two children born and raised on the North side of Chicago, Illinois. There he attended Waller High School and later graduated from Northwestern University. Bob went on to join the army and served as First Sergeant based out of Fort Devens, Massachusetts. In a commendation letter dated from 1955 his Captain reflected on Bob as "Cheerful, diligent and efficient. Always meticulous in his personal habits, and I know his morals to be above reproach. He has a winning personality". In 1956 he married MaryAnn Gendreau and raised 3 children in Chicago and remained in the area until 1995 when he moved to Scottsdale, Arizona. In addition to being an active father, Bob, lead a successful career in Public Relations and was involved in many local community organizations and non-profit efforts. After retirement and while living in Arizona he continued to donate his time to a local humane society near his home. While we have lost a man who leaves an immeasurable void, each of our lives have been enriched from knowing Bob. His selflessness, kindness and loyalty will remain legendary. A tribute reception will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 2pm at the residence of Dianna Brader. In lieu of flowers the Brader family recommends making a contribution to your local humane society in Bob's name.
