Burley, Robert "Bob"
71, of Peoria, AZ passed away on February 13, 2014. Robert George Burley (Bob) was born on February 13, 1943 in Ames, Iowa. He grew up in Lake City, Iowa. Upon graduation from High School, he attended community college in Fort Dodge, Ia. He married Dorothy Kerns the love of his life. Bob joined the Army and was stationed at Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Aberdeen, Maryland. In 1969, he and his wife returned to Iowa, where he worked for Pamida for 6 years. In 1979, Bob moved his family to Iowa Falls, IA and purchased the Woods Motor Inn. Then in 1985 he moved his family to Arizona where he managed apartment complexes before going to work for U.S. Airways. His joyous personality earned him the nickname "Jetway Bob". His willingness to be personable and caring made him a joy to be around. He always enjoyed meeting people and talking about his family. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. On November 13, 2013 he was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis. He fought a courageous battle. He entered his eternal home in heaven on February 13, 2014. His love and kindness made a huge mark on this world and will always be remembered by those who knew and loved him. Bob is survived by his wife Dorothy; son Robert (Paula) Burley; daughter Dawn (Damion) Easley; son John (Marsha) Burley; daughter Brittney Burley; grandchildren, Jeremey and Jaydin Burley; Rocky, Jazmin, Nate and Jayce Easley; Kaylie, Amaya, Malaina, Daisy and Lilly Burley; siblings brothers, Tim and Dan Burley; sisters Donna Wiegel and Jane Harding. Bob was proceeded in death by his parents. Services will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. At Paseo Verde Christian Church 7569 W. Greenway Rd Peoria, AZ 85381 (623) 487-7822.
