Elma Weiss Obituary
91, of Sun City, AZ May 3, 1923~July 22, 2014. Elma served in the Navy from 1944-46. Received her doctorate in Physical Education. She was Women's Athletic Director at Phoenix College 1961-1984. Member of the All American Girls Professional Baseball League from 1948-1949. Predeceased by her daughter Cindy Whitley, survived by 3 children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 31st from 6 to 8:30 pm at Best Funeral Services-West Valley Chapel, 9380 W Peoria Ave, Peoria AZ. 623-486-1955. Interment Friday Aug 1st at 9:30am at Veterans National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona 23029 N Cave Creek Rd

I met Doc at Phx. College, then ran into her at Maryvale Golf Course, where I worked. When I retired, I joined the ladies club and played golf with her. She was one heck of a woman, with an amazing past. She will be missed.
