Governor Thomas has been one of the most extraordinary and awe-inspiring woman we've ever been blessed to meet!!
When my husband was employed by the Gila River Police Department 18 years ago, it seemed that she had taken a special liking to my husband and always asked him about me and our kids (by name!) everytime, even though we didn't get the honor to meet her until the following year.
There have only been a handful of people that my husband has had the honor and privilege to serve throughout his career at Gila River, and Mary had his entire devotion, respect, and fierce loyalty.

She was modest and respectful, but oh so full of joy and spirit, that anyone who met her just couldn't help but fall in love with her! She loved taking care of her community, and it showed!

Our prayers go out to her family for peace and to take comfort with memories of a life joyfully lived! There is a twinkling star in the sky of her looking down still watching down over her family, friends, and community.
With much love and affection, we will miss your bright smile Mary!!
