Steven Cheuvront Obituary

Cheuvront, Steven Paul
Steve Cheuvront, 66, passed away on October 9, 2014. He was born in Phoenix on July 24, 1948 and attended North High School and Phoenix College. Steve proudly served in the U. S Marines as a Drill Instructor. This experience taught him discipline and the organizational skills that he clearly exhibited during his entire life. Steve was a champion off-road racer for over 10 years, competing in races such as the Parker 400, Mint 400 and the Mickey Thompson Stadium off road series, winning many races and championships. He was the owner of a successful landscaping business until his retirement, which afforded him the privilege of spending time on wildlife projects and pursuing his passion for photography. As a hunter during his early years, Steve developed a love for the outdoors and wildlife. In his later years he became an accomplished photographer, whose work demonstrated his deep love of Arizona and its wildlife. He volunteered many hours with a wide variety of wildlife organizations and was recognized as an expert on the Arizona Strip and its herd of Kaibab mule deer. He was the recipient of the 2012 Jamison Conservation Award and was one of the first Junior Arizona Mule Deer Association leaders. Steve is survived by wife Vicki Allison, niece Debi Cheuvront Spencer and nephew Ken Cheuvront. He was preceded in death by his parents Dorothy and Paul Cheuvront and his brother
Jerry Cheuvront. He will be greatly missed by both family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate that donations in Steve's name be made to: The Arizona Deer Association, PO Box 21868, Mesa AZ 85277. Arrangements entrusted to Messinger Indian School Mortuary.
