Passed away, at age 87, on December 17, 2014. Millie was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was the life of the party, and her kindness and wonderful sense of humor lifted the spirits of all those around her. She is survived by her sons, Charlie (wife Kelly), Richard (wife Nadia), and Andrew; her daughter Dara; a sister, Elaine Anderson; a brother, Boyd Tucker (wife Shirley); and three grandchildren (Elina, Lily, and Natalie). She was preceded in death by her brother Ken (wife Mavis) and beloved dog Missy. She was the third of four children raised in Star City, Saskatchewan. She attended the University of Saskatchewan, where she played defense for the women's hockey team. After, she attended graduate school in the United States, supervised the laboratory at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Chicago, then married and settled in River Forest, IL. She had a distinguished career with the federal government, where she wrote guidelines for laboratory standards. She retired to Florida then relocated to Arizona. Millie was "second mother" to Adam, Chris, Dave, Gabrielle, Liz, Mike, Skelton, Steve, and many others; and she will be greatly missed. We imagine she is somewhere above, enjoying a fine scotch and making fun of Republicans. An Irish wake will be held in her honor at the Skeptical Chymist in Scottsdale, AZ on Monday, December 22, 2014. Contributions may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
