Bruce Barton Obituary

Barton, Bruce Alan
Bruce Alan Barton passed away on December 14, 2014 after a long and valiant battle with cancer. Bruce was born on December 11, 1948 to Charles and Marilyn Barton. He was raised in Long Beach, CA. His first semester in college was spent traveling Europe by ship in the Chapman College program Seven Seas. After completing the Seven Seas program, Bruce continued his college education at ASU, graduating with a Political Science degree at the age of 20. Moving on to ASU Law School, he graduated Cum Laude at the age of 23. Bruce's career began in criminal law under the guidance of Murray Miller. Later Bruce embarked on another journey, opening his own practice in personal injury where he would practice until sickness prevented him from working in 2013. As a young lawyer, Bruce was instrumental in first organizing and then lobbying for the Chiropractic Association of Arizona (CAA). Throughout his life Bruce had a passion for the law and truly enjoyed representing individuals rather than insurance companies or other corporate interests. Above all else, Bruce was a true friend who will be greatly missed by his family and his many friends, too numerous to count. Bruce leaves behind his wife Renea (Salazar); stepchildren Rudy, Marissa, and Rickey Rosales; grandchildren Kalia Rosales, Niccolina Thomas, and Jayden Rosales; brothers Doug (CJ) Barton and Greg (Heather) Barton; nieces Kandis, Carrie, Tiffany, Brittany and Jenelle; and nephewTaylor Barton. A private memorial service will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that donations in Bruce's name be sent to the American Cancer Association.

I met Bruce Barton after I was involved in a car crash in the year 2001. Bruce hired me to do lots of painting at his home and office and we immediately became good friends. It was always fun doing stuff with Bruce. I remember going camping and fishing with Bruce and I will never forget the fun we had together. I will always wish I had kept in touch with him the last year. Rest in peace my good friend hope to see you again someday

Bruce Barton was my best friend. He was a kind, wonderful man, and I'm wondering now if I will ever find such a good friend again. Late at night, I will still be talking to Bruce, and asking him all the silly questions I have and getting his advise. Bruce will be missed. I hope to see him in Heaven.

Goodbye Bruce.
I will miss you and always remember your kind demeanor and wise counsel. I would be hard pressed to name anyone that you did not offer good advice, or your personal service, when they were in need. Thank you for all the great conversations at H.B.'s and rest in peace my friend. You will live forever in the hearts of those who had the pleasure of knowing you.

This is sad news, indeed. Although we were not in touch in recent years, we always made it a point to get together when I was in Phoenix. Having grown-up with Bruce, he was never very far from my thoughts. His dry wit, generous laugh and commitment to human dignity will be sorely missed.

Bruce has been a close friend to me, since college. It is hard for me to use the term "was", since I plan for him to be with me in sole/spirit for as long as I live.

Bruce was on the Plaintiff's side, I was a Defense expert. After the trial, we became friends, over cocktails at H.B. Hanratty,s. I always respected Bruce's ability to look at both side, to find a voice of reason in the argument. RIP my friend, I will miss you and our conversations.
