Izard, Samuel O. Jr.
84, of Mesa, Arizona, went to be with the Lord January 29, 2016, in the presence of his wife. Sam was born April 13, 1931, in Tahoka, TX, the son of the late Samuel and Christine Izard. He was the oldest of 2 children. He graduated from Tucumcari High School in New Mexico in 1950. On June 3, 1950 he married Eunave Pittman, the love of his life, and his wife of 65 years. Sam worked and taught in the construction industry for several years; sold real estate, and worked in customer service. He is survived by his wife, Eunave; son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Jane Izard of Amarillo, TX.; son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Terri Izard of Gilbert, AZ.; grandchildren, Vicki Stewart of Deatsville, AL.; Caleb & Caitlin Izard of Amarillo, TX.; and Andy and Taylor Izard of Gilbert, AZ; sister, Dorothy Meyer of Colorado Springs, CO; seven great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. His service was held Wednesday, February 3 at Elliot Road Baptist Church in Gilbert, AZ. Burial took place at Mountain View Cemetery.

Sorry to hear of the death of S. O. He did the beautiful tile work and other nice additions to our house in Tucumcari on Third St. I also remember him as one of the team that won the NM State Basketball Championship Tournament in 1950. My sympathy to Eunave and also Dorothy and the rest of the family.
