The family eventually settled in Tempe, Arizona, where Bill attended Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic School. Thinking of you today and the time our Mothers dragged you and I and both of our brothers all over the Mesa swap meet for hours on Wednesday nights. It was 50 years ago but still so vivid. Rest well and take care good care of the Moms until we meet again my friend.

Dear Sara,

I learned of Bill's death from the McClintock High School Class of '77 40-year Class Reunion Memory Book and was deeply sadden and so sorry for your loss. I was a friend of Bill going way back to when he first arrived at Mt. Carmel Catholic school, 7th grade, and the teacher paired us up to share a text book, the school couldn't afford books for every student. Bill was so smart and could read twice as fast as me and I felt bad he had to wait for me to finish before moving on, and thankfully he was very patient with me. Anyway we were friends through high school and college, we were even roommates in an off-campus house for one year. I always admired Bill's good nature and his strong faith in God and his Catholic faith, he was an inspiration for me. After college we went our separate ways, and I'm sorry to say, never reconnected, however, I still have fond memories of our friendship. I too lost my wife of 25 years six years ago so I know how difficult it can be to get through a day, a week, and the years but know their spirit will never leave you and will be there to give you strength and comfort. My sincerest condolences, my prayers are with you and your children.

Sincerely,

Steve Douglas

Dear Sara, I am so sorry that at the same time that I learn of the happy life you two have led and the children you have had, I also learn of Bill's passing. You were good friends "back in the day" and I've always thought of you both so fondly. I'm sorrier than ever now that I had to miss the Class of '85 Reunion.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Bill was an outstanding man, exhibiting a faith and compassion that remain a testament to him. My friendship with Bill began in High School at McClintock, and continued through college. When I left Arizona for Vanderbilt Medical School, we lost touch, but I will always remember him and hold a special place for him in my heart. He made a lasting impression on me, and made me want to be a better person. My deepest sympathy to the family at this time of tremendous earthly loss; I'm sure you will be with him again in everlasting life.

Deepest Regards~
