Paytas, Henry R. (Hank)
of Paradise Valley, born May 21, 1932, in Pittsburgh, PA., entered into eternal rest on Aug. 9, 2016 due to heart failure. He spent part of his growing up years in Miami Beach, FL., where he attended and graduated from St. Patrick grade school and high school. He met his future wife, Audrey Ann Shayne, there and they spent many summers working on Mackinac Island, MI, where his wife's parents owned a summer resort hotel. He and Audrey were married at Ste. Anne's Church on the Island on Sept. 3, 1952, and celebrated their 50th anniversary there in 2002. Besides his wife, Audrey, Henry is survived by 4 sons, Michael , Randall, Christopher and Brian and 2 daughters, Dorothy, Kathleen, 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his sister, Frances Henry, of Phoenix. Henry graduated from the University of Miami, in FL., in 1954 and from the Law School at the University of Arizona in 1957. He enjoyed a successful law practice for 50+ years in the Phoenix area and served 18 years as a Magistrate for the town of Paradise Valley. Henry was admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States District Court, the Arizona Supreme Court and all courts of Arizona. He was a Past President of the Scottsdale Bar Association, Past Chairman of the State Bar Disciplinary Commission and Past President of the Rotary Club of Scottsdale. He was also a member of Paradise Valley Country Club for 35 years, where he enjoyed golf and tennis, and was also a member of the Arizona Club in Scottsdale. Henry had a level of integrity that many people aspire to and his surprising sense of humor and keen wit were greatly appreciated by all who knew him. His entire career was spent helping his many clients and being of service to them. The term "counselor" was a perfect description of him and he will be sorely missed by his family, friends and clients. A Mass celebrating Henry's life will be at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 7655 E. Main St., Scottsdale, on Sat. Aug. 20th, 2016 @1:30pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to St. Vincent de Paul Society at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish
