Agnes Mabel Frost August 23, 1924 - January 13, 2012 Agnes was the youngest of four children born to Annie Soland Catlin and James Bert Catlin. After her birth in Page, North Dakota, the family moved to White Rock, South Dakota. She graduated from Sisseton High School. She met Eugene Frost, a young soldier back from fighting in World War II, on a train from San Francisco to San Jose. They were married in Santa Cruz, CA one month later. As the wife of an Army Command Sergeant Major, Agnes got to travel: Fort Hood, Texas; Mannheim, Germany; Fort Lewis, Washington State; Fort Richardson, Alaska; Fort Knox, Kentucky and Augsburg, Germany. She worked as a secretary on bases in Fort Richardson, Alameda, Fort Knox and Augsburg receiving numerous Commendations and Superior Performance Awards for her outstanding work. "Mrs. Frost is a distinct credit to the Civil Service and to the military which she serves." Upon retiring from the military, the Frosts started their own business in the produce and transportation fields. They enjoyed traveling, especially Hawaii where they spent many holidays by the ocean. Agnes was known for her nurturing spirit, her warm, genial disposition and a splendid sense of humor. She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene and is survived by her three daughters: Pamela Martinez, Shirley Hartman-Frost, and Wanda Pelkey, along with five grandchildren: Melanie, Lisa, Christopher, Dawn, and Lorena and 13 great grandchildren. We would like to thank Cari Walker and her wonderful staff at "Welcome Home" as well as the entire crew of "Optimal Hospice" for helping us give her the love and care that she needed.
