Betty Lois (Crowson) Fowler(1942 - 2013)

Betty Lois (Crowson) Fowler November 22, 1942 - July 01, 2013 Betty went to be with the Lord after a long year of numerous illnesses. She fought a hard fight. Betty was born in Kiowa, OK to Jack and Geneva Crowson on November 22, 1942. The family came to California when she was a young girl and they settled in Ridgecrest, CA. She attended schools in Ridgecrest and graduated from Bourrough High School in 1959, a year ahead of her class. She was at Bakersfield College at the age of 16. When she graduated from college she went to live in L.A. and started her career as a Legal Secretary and worked in numerous Law Firms before moving to Bakersfield to be near her Mom, Dad and her brother Glenn Crowson. She continued her work as a Legal Secretary and worked for the County of Kern at County Council until her retirement in 1999. She made many friends over the years at different Law offices. Betty loved to read and do crossword puzzles and all the puzzles in the paper. She was the "Crossword Queen". She did them in ink, she was so good! If you didn't know the answer...just ask Betty! Also you always wanted Betty in you team if you were playing "Trivial Pursuit". Betty is preceded in death by her parents Jack and Geneva Crowson and her brother Jackie. She is survived by her Brother and Sister in Law Glenn and Lanna Crowson; Sister in Law Mary Crowson of Texas; Niece Janie Williams and Husband Charlie; and Nephew Wade Crowson and Wife Tammy. She had three Great Nephews Justin, Mason and Jordan and two Great Nieces Brianna and Krista. Lanna and Glenn would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Harold Baer, Dr. David Dougherty, the Staff at DaVita NE and Wanda and Connie for stepping in when we needed you. And last but not least Lanna's sister Linda Blackwell (Couldn't have done it without you Sis) for all their care and concern for Betty this last year. You went above and beyond the call of duty. We can't thank you enough. The family will have a private get together later to celebrate Betty's life. No services are scheduled. In lieu of flowers please send donation to SPCA or .
