Charles Michael Larman November 13, 1952 - November 13, 2012 Charlie went home to celebrate his birthday with our Lord and Savior after a 5-year battle with cancer. Charlie was a beacon of light in his unwavering faith in our Lord, a witness and inspiration, and a testament to unconditional love. Charlie was born in Purcell, Oklahoma where he lived until the family moved to Stockton, California when he was 12-years old. Work brought Charlie and his children to Bakersfield in 1978 when he worked with Montgomery Drilling. He worked for various construction and oilfield related companies and was last employed by Soli-Bond, Inc., as a construction manager. He was well-respected, loyal and hard-working. Charlie loved bowling and participated in many local leagues throughout the years in Bakersfield as well as travelling with his family. He was active in his church, St. Paul's Anglican Parish where he served as an usher, participated in the Men's Prison Ministry, the Angel Tree Ministry, as well as his Bible Study group. Charlie's kind spirit, quiet strength, and bravery will always define him as the proud, "gentle man" we all knew and loved. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Gladys Larman; son Timothy W. Larman, and brother George Wilson. He is survived by his wife Darcie; children, Kimberly McKay and husband Jason, Gary Douglas and wife Dawn, and Amanda Douglas; grandchildren, Justin Baker, Alexis Baker, Lacie Douville, Jaxon McKay, Hailey Larman, Jared Larman, and Aubrie Douglas. The family would like to thank his many friends, his bible study group, and Soli-Bond, Inc. for their unwavering support and prayers and Drs. Jorge Del Toro and Ravi Patel and the John Wayne Cancer Institute for their care. A Celebration of his life will be held on November 17, 2012 at St. Paul's Anglican Parish, 2216 17th Street, Bakersfield, Ca with a reception following.
