CLARENCE WHITLOCK(1927 - 2012)

Clarence Whitlock March 31, 1927 - December 9, 2012 Clarence Whitlock, 85, was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas on March 31, 1927. He went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 9, 2012 in Bakersfield, California. He served in the Army in World War II and in the Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict. He graduated from Southern Methodist University with an Engineering Degree and worked for 55 years in the oil pipeline industry with several companies, He retired from Texaco, Inc. in 1990 Clarence was a devout Christian. He was a Gideon for 40 years and was very active in that ministry. He also was active in RiverLakes Community Church and served there as well. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He had a dry sense of humor and enjoyed life. He enjoyed playing golf, crossword puzzles and travel, especially to Hawaii which he was privileged to do many times. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jo Anne; and his daughter, Clarise Wyatt, and granddaughter, Alysia Wyatt; and his sister-in-law, Norma Withrow of Cedar Hill, Texas, and several nephews and nieces. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2012, at 11:00 AM at RiverLakes Community Church, 4301 Calloway Dr., Bakersfield with lunch to follow.
