Dick Douglass(1949 - 2013)

Dick Douglass October 4, 1949 - February 24, 2013 Dick was born in Aberdeen, Washington, where he attended Weatherwax High School, class of 1968. He joined the Army and was a Vietnam veteran, serving proudly for his country. He was born to Charles and Donna Douglass (Balow), who preceded him in death, along with brother, Jim Douglass (Donna). He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Joni; along with his family pets, consisting of three dogs and five parrots at the family home. Also surviving are his siblings, who all reside in Grays Harbor County in Washington State, Steve (Debbie) Douglass, David and (Cathy) Douglass, Chuck Douglass, Kathy Twigg (Ted), and John Cribbs; along with a son, Richard Fargo; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Dick enjoyed hunting and fishing while residing in his hometown of Aberdeen, Washington, prior to he and his wife moving to Sonoma, California, where they loved living in wine country, and later to Bakersfield. Dick was the manager of National Seating and Mobility as a rehab technology supplier, where he retired in 2010. He took pride in building specialized wheelchairs to help his clients gain mobility, especially the children. A chapel service will be held Friday, March 1, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at Greenlawn Southwest Memorial Chapel, 2739 Panama Lane. He will be buried in Montesano, Washington.
