Emiliano Ramirez "Chief" Juarez(1928 - 2012)

Emiliano R. Juarez August 8, 1928 - October 1, 2012 Emiliano "Chief" Ramirez Juarez was born on August 8, 1928, to Saturnino and Cleofas Ramirez Juarez in Fentress, Texas. While surrounded by his family, he returned to the Lord on October 1, 2012. In 1947 he came to work in the DiGiorgio camps; then worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for seven years, and seasonal work in various fields. In 1964 he moved his family to Los Angeles and worked for American Electric for three years. He then worked for Oscar Mayer at the L.A. plant and retired after 25 years. At the age of 39, he went back to school and obtained a Junior High diploma from Cambridge Adult School. He loved to sing, play guitar, and write music. He enjoyed watching the Dodgers play and spending time with his HUGE family. He lived a rough life but came to love reading his Bible daily; through this he came to know Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Emiliano is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Maria Pilar Martinez Juarez; and 4 of his 12 siblings: sister, Ruth Sanchez; and brothers, Teodoro, Benigno, and Antonio. He was Dad to 10 children, Alfred, Emiliano Jr., Dolores Legarreta, Vincent, Cleofas, Rosita Barron, Gregoria, Felipe, Cynthia Camarillo, and Braulio. He was grandfather to 33 children and great-grandfather to 22, plus numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by son, Leonard Montes. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 8, 2012, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary starting at 6:00 p.m., at Greenlawn Memorial Chapel, 3700 River Blvd. Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 9, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe, 601 E.
