Frank A. Franceschi(1927 - 2012)

Frank A. Franceschi February 26, 1927 - November 26, 2012 Frank A. Franceschi was born in Roseville, CA and attended schools there as the only son of Italian immigrants Domenico and Anna Franceschi. After graduating high school early, he eagerly joined the US Air Force and proudly served his country during World War II. Upon his return he attended Sacramento State and Tulsa University where he received his Master's Degree in Petroleum Refining Engineering. In 1952, he met the love of his life and eventual wife of 59 years, Loretta Ricci. Frank was a petroleum engineer in the Bay Area until 1973 at which time he became involved in farming with his father-in-law Louis Ricci, owner of LR Farms. He reluctantly retired in January 2002 due to illness. Frank enjoyed playing golf, was an officer in the Concord, CA Elks Lodge, served on the Board of Directors of the Semitropic Water Storage District, and was a board member of the Shafter Minter Field Air Museum. He is survived by his wife Loretta, daughters Julie Buksa (Tony), Elisa Ruby (John) and grandchildren Julie Strauss and John Buksa. He will always be remembered as a hard worker, a generous provider, and a loving husband, father, and grandfather who fought until the end to not leave us. We loved our Pa and he will be very dearly missed each and every day. Sincerest gratitude is extended to Dr. David Dougherty and his staff, and Hoffman Hospice for the excellent care and compassion they provided Frank and his family. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 3rd at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hoffman Hospice, 8501 Brimhall Rd., Bakersfield, CA 93312 or a . DOUGHTY-CALHOUN-O'MEARA
