Frank Berumen, 90, went home to be with our Lord on Dec. 4th. Tito, as he was affectionately known was born Oct. 4, 1922 in Sonora AZ. His family moved to La Estancia de los Berumen, Mexico when he was a little boy. He was a hard working man starting when his father died leaving him to care for his younger siblings and the family's livestock when he was only 8. About that time he met his future wife, Mariana Medrano who was a neighbor. They became friends, then fell in love, and married Jan. 8, 1944. Through the years, he went back and forth from Mexico to California working to provide for his growing family. By 1960 they had 9 children and all his hard work had paid off to bring his family to live with him in California. He and his family vacationed in Mexico in 1963 and while there, had their 10th child. Tito and his wife taught their children to work together, to be honest, and always look out for one another. Frank's favorite past time was to sit outside and watch nature and enjoy "el solesito" the sun. We will miss watching boxing, westerns, and novellas with him. He was known for his knowledge of plants and trees. His pride and joy were his 10 children , 25 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. We will cherish the memories he left behind. Tito is reunited with his beloved wife of 50 years, Marianita, who preceded him in death in 1997. His family would like to thank his care-giver Blanca; an honorary member of the family now. Her upbeat personality and infectious laughter brought so much joy to "Don Frank" in his last years. "Lo queremos mucho Papa!" www.bakersfield.com/obits
