Gary Mitcheal Perry(1949 - 2013)

Gary Mitcheal Perry October 25, 1949 - June 6, 2013 Gary Mitcheal Perry was born to Joseph and Rachel Perry in Bakersfield, California. He graduated from Foothill High School in 1967, the same year he and Jeanene first met. They went steady for two years. Gary enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Vietnam and Hawaii. He served in the 9th Infantry, earned his Expert Infantry Badge and a Bronze Star. Upon returning home he attended Bakersfield College. He loved playing golf with his dad and friends. He always had a passion for music and playing the guitar. Gary and Jeanene were reunited after a few years and were married in Las Vegas in 1977. They enjoyed 35 years of living life to the fullest. Gary worked as a self-employed welder. He eagerly worked long hours in extreme conditions to provide for his family and took pride in his workmanship. In recent years, he worked with Gene Watson Construction. Since retiring, he enjoyed volunteering and helping Jeanene in her classroom with her first graders. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Rachel and Joseph Perry, his sister, Wanda and husband Medford Plant, his other sister, Brenda and husband Mack Ratliff, and his niece, Medina Kimmel. Gary is survived by his wife Jeanene, loving sister, Carole and husband Don Huth and his three sons. Gary loved his sons, Sean Ayers and wife Whitney, Aron Perry and girlfriend Christylynn Sosa, Steve Perry and wife Rachel. He loved and enjoyed his granddaughter Sophia Perry. He also had fond memories of his friends Craig Basden, Ronnie Baker, Haskell Barton, Gary Reed and the Royal Way crowd. Special thanks and love to his sister- in-law and brother-in-law, Amy and Dan McGuire, and neices and nephews including Toby, Joe, Kelley and James. Gary was deeply loved and he will be missed by all of us. Military Services for Gary Perry will be held at Bakersfield National Cemetery (30338 E Bear Mt. Blvd. - East on 58 take the 223/Arvin Exit) Friday, June 14, 2013 promptly at 9:15 a.m. Immediately following the service, please join us for a celebration of life luncheon in honor of Gary at Parkside Church, 2513 Church Ave. at Mt.
