Ingwer Ket Ketelsen(1918 - 2012)

Ingwer "Ket" Ketelsen October 6,1918 - November 28, 2012 Ingwer "Ket" Ketelsen of Wasco, Ca. passed away November 28th in San Luis Obispo. He was 94 years old. Ket is survived by his beloved wife Vera. They had recently celebrated 70 years of marriage. Also surviving him is his sister, Doris Bingham, two sons, Gary and Stan, five Grandchildren and six Great-grandchildren. Ket was born in Everly, Iowa and moved to Laverne, Ca. as a young boy. He graduated from La Verne College and went on to serve as a pilot in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. After World War II, Ket and Vera settled in Wasco where he taught school, served as Principal at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School and completed his career as the Superintendent of the Maple School District. While in Wasco he was an active member of the Wasco United Methodist Church, the Wasco Rotary Club, the Delano/ Wasco Masonic Lodge as well as working with the local Boy Scout Troop. After retiring in 1975, he and Vera enjoyed many years of traveling. Family and friends have many fond memories of spending time socializing, golfing, fishing, and camping with Ket. The holiday season reminds us all of how much fun we had together. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his memory to the Alzheimer' Association. (www.alz.org).
