Jennie Raymond(1924 - 2012)

Jennie Raymond March 18, 1924 - November 25, 2012 Jennie was born in Chicago to immigrant parents Harry and Pota Colias. She worked as a waitress from the age of 14 in her family's restaurant and continued her life in food service until she retired at age 78. She was married to Randall Raymond in Michigan where they began their 62 years together. They moved to Ventura, California in the 1950's and raised their family in the warm California sun. She was often referred to as the little Greek lady with the red Volkswagen as she buzzed around Ventura. Jennie moved to Bakersfield in the spring of this year, to be closer to family. She lived at Glenwood Gardens where she met many new friends and tried to teach everyone how to whistle. The most precious loves of her life were her two children, Darla and Randy. She would often say, her children were her comfort, and her strength. Jennie was proceed in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by her daughter and son in law Darla and Richard Speer of Colorado; her son and daughter in law Randy Sr. and Sherrie Raymond of Bakersfield; her grandchildren Wade, Kelly, Matthew, Kimberly, Randy Jr , and Joseph, and 7 great grandchildren .
