Katherine Zaninovich Cook December 28,1931 - September 17, 2013 Katherine Zaninovich Cook passed peacefully from this life on September 17th, 2013 to join her husband, Col. James R. Cook, in eternal repose. Born on December 28, 1931 to Katie and John in Orange Cove, California and raised by her father and second mother, Mira, she lived her life full of purpose. Fondly known as "Katine," she was an upbeat lady of life, enjoying constant activity and vibrant health, always pursuing sports as an athlete and fan, and attending concerts, cultural festivals, and stage shows. Her dedication to the U.S. Air Force was as enduring as the lifelong friendships she and Jim had acquired during their many years of service. Katherine was extremely proud of her children, grandchildren, and great grandson. She is survived by daughters Joni Therrien, Jami Kenison, and Kathy Cook-Obregon; with their families: Sam, Dan, Stacey, and Parker Therrien; Bruce, Claire, and Connor Kenison; and Lalo Obregon. She is survived, also, by her beloved brother and sister, John Zaninovich, and Margaret Weersing; also, by cherished brothers-by-marriage Tom Cerney and Marvin Stucky. She is predeceased by her parents; by her sisters, Mary and Betz; and by her siblings-by-marriage, Janice Zaninovich and Don Weersing. Raised with a wonderful legacy to love your fellow humans, to appreciate your family, and to value the attributes of trust and honesty, learned to be as her father taught, and raised her own family with these important values.
