Maria Ana Juarez Romero March 23, 1927 - November 11, 2012 Maria Ana Romero, 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 11, 2012, at her home in Bakersfield, CA, surrounded by her caring family. Maria was born in Del Rio, TX, on March 23, 1927, to Jesus and Francisca Juarez. Maria moved to Bakersfield in 1943. She was employed at Kress Drug Store on 19th Street in Bakersfield for five years. While in Bakersfield, she met and married Henry Lopez Romero on September 21, 1948. She was then employed at Tenneco Packing for 20 years. Maria retired and lived out her days in Bakersfield. Maria was an amazing sister, wife, mother, grandma, great-grandma, and friend to everyone she knew and cared about. She will be remembered as the matriarch of a loving family and a woman who showed us how to live and die with dignity. Maria is survived by her children, Gloria and Steve Aguilar, Hope and David Martinez, Becky Hernandez, Henry Jr. and Patsy Romero, Joe and Debbie Romero, and Monica and David Hernandez; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. The family of Maria Ana Romero would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Maria Garcia for all of your love and care. Recitation of the Rosary will be held Monday, November 19, 2012, at 6:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Chapel, 3700 River Blvd. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, November 20, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church.
