Mark Clem Bebout (Blockhead) June 16, 1961 - September 25, 2013 Mark Bebout passed away quietly at Memorial Hospital on September 25, 2013, surrounded by his family and friends who loved him dearly. Mark grew up in Bakersfield, California before going off to college. He excelled in academics and sports earning himself a scholarship to Fresno State University where he played football and earned his Masters degree in Business Marketing and Finance. Mark loved traveling, playing sports, physical fitness, his dog that was more like his daughter "Hailey", and the love of his life Shiva O'Malley. Until Mark lost the use of his legs, he was a fitness fanatic constantly working out, staying trim and fit, and in excellent shape. Not having any children of his own, he loved his nieces and nephews and later in life his great nieces and nephews. Being a very large active man, he had a tendency to play a little rough but was somehow kept in line by his mother and sister on several occasions. Business Marketing and Finance came second nature to Mark. He was an exemplary salesman focusing on medical and emergency technology then moving on to real estate. No matter what specialty, he could master it. Even after various illnesses cost him his mobility, Mark continued to stay positive and strong. He was an example for anyone with a disability. He strived to better himself by taking online classes and learning new trades to be productive and self-sufficient. Mark was an amazing brother, uncle, and son who loved his family and stayed as close as he could even with his physical condition. His constant phone calls and emails made sure he was staying up to date on all of his family's functions. Being the world traveler that he was, he made sure we all went to the places he suggested. He even demanded pictures as proof that we went, usually on Facebook, so he could enjoy the trip with us. His whole family will miss Mark immensely. Mark is preceded in death by his father Russell Bebout and his brother in law Robert Muniozguren. Mark is survived by his mother Imogene Bebout, sister Brenda Muniozguren, brother Danny Bebout, sister in law Judy Bebout, and several nieces and nephews that will all hold a special place in their heart for him. The family would like to send out a special thank you and acknowledgement to all the wonderful staff at Golden Living; Marks home for the last five years. You are all wonderful. Thank you. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday October 1, 2013, at 10:00 am at Green Lawn Cemetery 2739 Panama Lane Bakersfield CA 93313. A reception will follow at the Homewood Suites 1505 Mill Rock Way Bakersfield CA 93311. www.bakersfield.com/obits
